Rivertubing, the adrenaline kick on the rubber tire: Riding down the torrent in a bulging tire. You can experience this splashy adventure during your summer vacation in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee.
Equipped with wetsuit, helmet and life jacket, adventurers spending their vacation in the heart of Salzburg's Sportwelt start an action-packed tubing tour across the torrent (Lammer). After a detailed safety briefing by a coach, you let yourself be carried away in the truest sense of the word and glide through the floods on bulging rubber tires. First it goes through the Voglauer gorge. The "joyride" continues on the tube over the play roller to the exit point in front of the Lammeröfen. Back at the camp you can take a shower and put on dry clothes.
First, water sports enthusiasts in New Zealand tried out the trendy Riverbug, but now vacationers in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee can also test the agile whitewater vehicle and maneuver their way through the waters of the Salzburg Sports World.
You'll be almost as comfortable as in a TV chair in the Riverbug, a cross between a canoe, an air mattress and a rafting boat. But it's much faster than the usual TV program. Because with the Riverbug you plunge into the floods of the white-water river Lammer, your hands and feet serving as propulsion. During the Riverbug tour, your hands and feet are transformed into fins. Entering and exiting the river is very easy, because the Riverbug lies deep in the water. If you capsize, you'll be back in the whitewater vehicle in no time, and it can handle just about anything that can be done by kayak. No previous knowledge is necessary for the beginner's tour.
